We have a little tradition at The Cutting Garden. Every year at about this time we go all pink. But it’s strictly for charity. This year, Wear it Pink Day falls on 19 October 2018.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK.

Thousands of people across the country will wear it pink in communities, schools or work places for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.

Every year, The Cutting Garden is proud to take part in this amazing event and this year is no exception. As you can see from our photos of previous years’ events we always have a great time combining fun, style and fundraising for a great cause.

Since their first event in 2002, Breast Cancer Now has raised over £31.5 million for their life-saving research and we are delighted that our efforts over the years have combined with our wonderful clients have contributed to that incredible total.

It’s Time to End Breast Cancer

According to statistics from Cancer Reasearch UK, there are around 54,900 new breast cancer cases in the UK every year, which is around 150 every day. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and more than 1 in 10 breast cancer cases are diagnosed late. There are around 11,400 breast cancer deaths in the UK every year, that’s 31 every day.

These are just a few of the reasons why research into diagnosis and cure is so essential. Most of have been affected directly or indirectly by breast cancer and this is an unacceptable situation. Working together to raise funds and increase research will eventually turn those statistics around, and the staff, stylists and management of The Cutting Garden are committed to help that happen.

That’s what Wear it Pink Day is all about for us: working together with our valued customers to make a difference.

We love running our special Wear it Pink Day event at The Cutting Garden every year. We invite you to join us again this year to raise a record amount for this fantastic cause together.
